Exploring Dominica

The Caribbean is often known around the world for its fine beaches, luxurious resorts, and pina colada. But one island is not known for any of these, but instead for its stunning, unspoiled, natural beauty. For the next five days and four nights, I will be taking a solo excursion to the Caribbean island nation of
Dominica, where I will trek among steamy sulfur springs to one of the world's largest boiling lakes, swim under a waterfall in the rainforest, and explore what gives champagne reef its name. Join me as I explore Dominica!

  8. awesome!! Godwillingly I’ll be attending Ross this upcoming May!! Two
questions popped in my head, (one, how did you do all this during med
school, but you explained it was during break :), and second, how did you
    film underwater?! That was gorgeous!

  9. @Bubbly21 Congratulations on your acceptance to med school! This video was
from a 5-day trip I took to Dominica during my break between semesters. I
go to school at AUC School of Medicine, and wanted to do some island
hopping. As for filming underwater, I bought a cheap underwater camera at a
scuba shop. 🙂 Thanks for watching!

    marvelous video!!!

  13. Excellent video, I think you should add some more tags like boiling lake
for example so more people can find it. Thank you for posting.

You really did an awesome job with this video!!! I recently moved to
Dominica and I’m loving it. It is definitely a Nature Island. If ever in
life there is no more access to food in the supermarkets, we in Dominica
don’t have to worry because there is food everywhere …mangos, coconuts,
Dasheen, Yam, bread fruit…you name it, it grows here. It’s like a big
garden and I got the opportunity to live here.

How do you get treated differently there being an Asian? I’m half Asian and
when I went to the Dominican Republic or Colombia or Panama, I think I
actually tend to be treated well above average, by the ladies that is, and
even the men were friendly, or they have some misconception that I am smart
or something. But it might have to do with they know I’m from the U.S.
